One of the things that attracts many people to voice over is that it’s very portable. You can do it from virtually anywhere!

Imagine recording your auditions or gigs from:
- A sun-soaked beach in Mexico
- A tiny European village during your dream trip
- Your grandkid’s guest room while visiting family

This isn’t just a pipe dream. It’s really possible. I just recently heard from a voice talent who reported:

"I'm in my hotel room right now doing a job that's paying for our entire vacation!"

I even had a student who recorded from a hut in remote Borneo while visiting pygmy elephants!

Whether VO is your retirement “money hobby” or a lifestyle business you’re building, what if your voice could help fund your adventures…without sacrificing quality or peace of mind?

That kind of freedom is entirely possible for you.

But here’s what most voice actors don’t realize:

Trying to “wing it” while recording on the road? That’s a one-way ticket to disaster.

I’ve learned the hard way. I’ve made every mistake in the book as a road warrior, when I didn’t know any better.

While VO is portable, you still need a solid plan to make it go smoothly.

Without one, there’s no telling what will surprise you or go wrong:

…Your “quiet” hotel turns into Grand Central Station by noon.

…The perfect take is wrecked by parrots squawking outside your window (yep, that happened to me in Brazil).

…A family vacation ends in tears because you're stuck recording while everyone else is at the beach.

…Your mic gets smashed or lost in checked luggage.

But it doesn’t have to be like this. Recording on the road should be a dream, not a nightmare!

I’ve cracked the code on how to record professionally from just about anywhere.

These days, I spend 6+ weeks a year abroad and still deliver for my agents and clients, without missing a beat.

To make this happen, you just need a few key things.

In this Voice Over Nomad Flash Training, I’m going to show you what they are (as well as what you MUST avoid at all costs!)

Once you know how to navigate the common pitfalls of “VO on the go,” you can enjoy the best of both worlds: freedom and income.

Join me for a 90-minute live training on Monday, April 28th, where I’ll walk you through my proven system for taking your voice over business on the road: without sacrificing quality, income, or your sanity.

Even if you’re just starting out, you’ll learn exactly how to:

  • Record broadcast-quality audio with equipment that fits in a backpack. I’m going to show you “What’s in Susan’s Travel Bag.” You’ll be amazed by the size & features. I’ll mention by name the makes & models that are travel-friendly and the most important features to look for. PLUS, I’ll show you how to “shop” what you already have so this doesn’t have to be super expensive.
  • Create professional recording spaces using items already in your hotel room. Using only the items already available on-site (hint: the luggage rack is key), you can turn a tiny closet or desk into a perfectly sound-treated space. I’ll show you the trick.
  • Maintain client relationships without them worrying you're miles from home. These are important relationships you never want to give the impression you’re unreliable. I’m going to tell you what to say (and what to keep to yourself!).
  • Keep peace with your family while capturing jobs that might pay for your vacation. When the whole family wants to sight-see and you’re stuck in a hotel, what then? I’ve learned the hard way how important it is to set expectations up front. I’ve got a “peace-keeping protocol” so your travel companions are board and don't resent your work.
You’ll get my invaluable “tips & tricks” to make your travel a snap:
  • How to make sure the hotel wifi is good before you get there. Even in this day & age we can’t assume it will work. I have a crafty way to verify the wifi, even if you aren’t on site yet.
  • What kind of hotel room you must ask for every time…and the room locations you absolutely need to avoid. Use my “hotel room request script” to ensure you get the right room.
  • Can you turn a hotel closet into a recording booth, even if it’s so shallow you can hardly fit? Yes!
  • How to use pillows, towels, and items already in your hotel to create a sound-treated space on the fly. I know how to get creative with what’s at your finger tips. Don’t gamble on trial & error, just follow my set-up. It’s a snap!
  • Where you should never, ever stay if you plan on doing voice overs (these types of places are virtually impossible to sound treat).
  • The worst times and places to attempt recordings (avoid my costly mistakes)...including time of day you absolutely need to avoid recording when you’re on the road.
  • Things you need to understand about exotic locations and remote areas before you get there (it’s possible to record, but only if you know these things in advance).
  • How to “vet” where you’ll be staying ahead of time to ensure it has what you need. You DO need to give some thought to where you’ll be staying, whether it’s a hotel, a rental, or a friend.
  • When to book yourself “out” and when to be available to customers and agents.
  • The exact gear list for a complete portable studio that fits in a carry on. I’ll tell you what to never put in your checked baggage, and the one thing that might stump TSA.
This Flash Training is for you if:

You want to take your VO work on the road, without sacrificing bookings.

You’re retired (or semi-retired) and want a flexible income that funds your freedom.

You split time between homes or travel frequently.

You want a smart side hustle that can go anywhere.
