If you’re someone who enjoys performing, experimenting with different voices, and bringing characters to life… character voice acting may be exactly what you’ve been looking for.
You don’t necessarily need years of stage experience to explore this side of voice over.
What you do need is a willingness to play, perform, and make bold creative choices. And there are several voice over genres where those kinds of choices are welcome and encouraged.
I’m talking about audio dramas, animation, and video games.
These character-driven projects give voice actors the chance to truly act behind the microphone, creating personalities, emotions, and memorable roles.
The problem for many voice actors is knowing how to put the performance first. These character-driven roles require a different mindset than traditional VO niches.
Once you understand how to approach these auditions and roles, it’s very freeing.
You open yourself up to scripts, projects, and creative outlets that you may never have dreamt possible.
On Thursday’s free Skill Spotlight Training, I’m going to introduce you to Character Acting in Voice Over and let you know where the opportunities are…and what kind of skills they require.
